These carriages had the same seating provision as the Thirds above, but accomodated
only 30. They were built between 1872 and 1885.

Suburban Thirds were spartan, seating 50 passengers on 10 transverse, shaped wooden
seats. There was no upholstery to make the journey comfort-able. They were built
between 1872 and 1885.

These carriages were rebuilt from D37 6W Firsts in 1908 by altering one end compartment
to a guard’s compartment.
A survivor formed the basis for the Bluebell Railway’s restoration of coach 661.
